The Gainesville Jaycees are proud to announce a recent $500 donation made to the Gateway Domestic Violence Center. The check emphasizes the continued dedication of the Gainesville Jaycees to serving local non-profits and furthering the mission of service to humanity.

Back in the early 1980's, a group of concerned community leaders took notice of incidents of domestic violence across the country and decided to act locally. They founded Gateway House, now known as Gateway Domestic Violence Center, in October of 1982.

Over the years, Gateway's programs have grown and so have its facilities. But one thing that has never changed is the commitment of the Board of Directors, staff, volunteers and donors to make a positive impact on the fight against domestic violence in Hall County.

The funds from the Jaycees will specifically be used to support Gateway's in-school domestic violence program and to help buy much needed supplies for the program.
